A Funeral for Nature
April 20, 2024 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
On Saturday April 20th, one of the most powerful and ambitious street theatre pieces yet to be enacted on behalf of biodiversity loss will be coming to Bath.
Watch the mock-funeral for nature procession pass through the centre of Bath from 2pm-4pm. See below for the route.
Around the world, biodiversity is being annihilated at a terrifying rate. We are entering the ‘sixth mass extinction’ event and the consequences could be catastrophic if we do not act swiftly. In spite of promises from governments, biodiversity loss shows no sign of slowing. The future of our planet is at stake.
A Funeral for Nature aims to help raise awareness and make change happen, especially for the UK, which is now ‘one of the most nature-depleted countries on earth’.
This is being coordinated with the Red Rebel Brigade to create an extraordinary visual spectacle of a type and size never attempted before.
Procession route
The procession begins on New King Street, travelling up to Gay Street and The Circus via Queen’s Square. It then heads towards its final destination of Bath Abbey, via Milson Street and Saw Close.
