Our aims

Extinction Rebellion is an international movement which aims to persuade governments to take action on the climate and ecological emergency facing the planet. Extinction Rebellion aims to achieve this through the use of non-violent direct action. In the UK, Extinction Rebellion has three demands for the government.

1. Tell the truth

The government must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological emergency, working with other institutions to communicate the urgency for change.

2. Act now

The government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions
to net zero by 2025.

3. beyond politics

The government must create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice.

You can find more information about these three demands at rebellion.earth/the-truth/demands/. You can also attend a welcome session at one of our meetings where you can learn more about our aims and discuss them with others. Find the dates for upcoming Bath meetings in our calendar here.
