Update on The NOGASPS campaign

Excellent news about the campaign! We have been told by B&NES Council that Conrad Energy has decided to put the gas-fuelled power station on hold until Spring whilst they look into greener and cleaner alternatives. The 1800 signatures on the petition undoubtedly had an effect.

Stephanie Laslett of Extinction Rebellion said, “It’s good news that energy companies are realising they need to invest in the new technologies now available. The days of oil and gas are over and we’re all delighted Conrad Energy are looking to embrace a green future.”

Cllr Sarah Warren, B&NES Cabinet Member for Climate Emergency, commented, “I’m very pleased that the council has been able to engage constructively both with Conrad Energy, and with local residents, supported by Extinction Rebellion. I’m really hopeful now that we will reach a greener outcome.”
